United Cooperative Services has established customer rate
classes and rates within each class to match electric load
characteristics. The current rates went into effective April 1, 2003
and were the first rate change since 1993. The power cost recovery
factor that is part of each rate, is a variable factor based upon the
current, market fuel costs, and from which United, as a distribution
utility rather than a generation utility, does not profit.
